Rejoining the Mission- Silas’ Readiness to Respond to Paul’s Call

July 15, 2025

By Andrew Williams

“Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.” – Acts 17:15 (ESV)

Good morning fellow disciples.

Acts 17:15 reveals the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the Gospel. After being escorted to Athens for safety, Paul immediately sends word for Silas and Timothy to rejoin him as soon as possible. This passage underscores Paul’s reliance on his ministry partners and his desire to continue working together for the Kingdom of God.

As a disciple, you are called to be a team player, to work collaboratively with others, and to support your fellow believers in their ministry. Silas’ example reminds you to be responsive to the needs of those around you and to be ready to join forces when necessary. You are empowered to use your gifts, your talents, and your resources to support the work of the Gospel and to work in unity with other believers.

This week, reach out to other believers in your church or community and ask how you can support them in their ministry. Be open to opportunities to collaborate, to share your gifts, and to work together to accomplish God’s purposes. Remember, it is important that there is trust among the group.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful and supportive team player in your Kingdom. Give me a heart for collaboration and a desire to work in unity with other believers. Lead me to the right partnerships and empower me to use my gifts, my talents, and my resources to advance your Gospel. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
