“When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.” – Acts 18:5 (ESV)

Good morning fellow disciples.

Acts 18:5 describes the rekindling of Paul’s ministry in Corinth following the arrival of Silas and Timothy from Macedonia. Their presence not only provided companionship and support but also seemed to inject new energy into Paul’s efforts. The verse notes that “Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus,” suggesting a renewed intensity in his preaching and teaching. This passage underscores the importance of encouragement, partnership, and the power of fellowship in sustaining effective ministry.

As a disciple, you may experience seasons of discouragement, weariness, or doubt. Silas’ example reminds you of the importance of surrounding yourself with supportive friends, encouraging mentors, and faithful ministry partners. Your relationships with other believers can provide strength, inspiration, and renewed passion for serving God.

This week, reach out to a friend or mentor who has been a source of encouragement and support in your life. Express your gratitude for their presence and ask them to pray for you as you continue to pursue your calling. Also, consider how you can be a source of encouragement to others who may be struggling or discouraged.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of friendship and for the blessing of faithful ministry partners. Surround me with people who will encourage me, support me, and challenge me to grow in my faith. Help me to be a source of strength and inspiration to others, so that we may all serve you with renewed passion and joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
