Redirecting Our Focus to -My purpose in God’s Kingdom: Be Pure

By Andrew Williams – January 26, 2022

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
James 1:27 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

There are two points related to purity in this verse.

1. Pure Religion
Many of us are religious, but the religion that we follow does not really follow God’s true intention for us as His children. In this passage we are told exactly what it means to have pure religion in the sight of God the Father.

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.

Is your life reflecting this?

Are you looking after the orphans and the widows in their distress?

2. Don’t Become Like The World
Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Are you being influenced to change to be like the world?

Have you been resisting?

As a child of God are you following Him totally by being fully surrendered and submitted to Him?

Remember, “True spirituality that is pure in the eyes of our Father God is to make a difference in the lives of the orphans, and widows in their troubles, and to refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values.”
James (Jacob) 1:27 TPT

Prayer: Father God, I pledge to keep myself pure and I refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values. I will look after those in need. I will love my neighbor as myself and do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I love You God and I know that You love me, so I will show love to others the way You desire. Amen.
