Redirecting Our Focus to – Intimate Fellowship with God

Moses said to the Lord, “Look, You have told me, ‘Lead this people up,’ but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. You said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in My sight.’ Now if I have indeed found favor in Your sight, please teach me Your ways, and I will know You and find favor in Your sight. Now consider that this nation is Your people.” Then He replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” “If Your presence does not go,” Moses responded to Him, “don’t make us go up from here. How will it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your sight unless You go with us? I and Your people will be distinguished by this from all the other people on the face of the earth.” The Lord answered Moses, “I will do this very thing you have asked, for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name.”
Exodus 33:12‭-‬17 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Think about having a conversation with the person that you love. Think about the sweet fellowship that you will have together as you converse one with another. Think about all you will feel as he or she spends time with you.

In a world where persons are afraid of God, a world where persons don’t know how to approach God or how to listen to God, isn’t it wonderful that we can have intimate fellowship with Him?

We see Moses having a conversation with God. Moses recalls previous encounters with God where God says that He knows Moses by name and that Moses has found favor in God’s sight. Moses then intercedes on the behalf of the people that he is leading, and God agrees to his requests.

What I want us to get from this is the intimacy between God and Moses. It’s like they are speaking face to face, each listening to one another and feeling free to speak without fear.

What is your relationship with God like?
•Are you able to speak to Him freely?
•Are you able to hear from Him?
•Are you fellowshipping with Him?
•Is your relationship with Him one of intimacy or one marked by fear?

Have you found favor in God’s sight, and does He know you by name? If you have then be like Moses and have intimate fellowship with God.

If you haven’t found favor in God’s sight, it’s not too late to redirect your focus to God. Repent of your sins, introduce yourself to God, and get to know Him, and spend time fellowshiping with Him.

Prayer: Father God, I look to You now, wanting to know You and for You to know me personally. I want to fellowship with You intimately.

As I walk towards You Lord, walk towards me. As I kneel before Your throne speak to me just like You did with Moses. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
