In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
We begin our year by redirecting our focus to God. Our passage today speaks of the beginning. In the beginning God created. The focus is on God.
As we redirect our focus to God, we recognize God as being the creator of everything. He is center of everything, He is the one who it is all about, and if it wasn’t for Him, then we would not exist. Our lives and our existence depend on Him. We do not find purpose without Him. We do not find meaning to life without Him.
We need to redirect our focus to Him to find out who we are, who we were created to be, and what are the purposes of our lives on this earth.
Do you know this God? Do you know Him as creator? Do you know Him as Father? Do you know Him as sustainer? Do you know Him as the source of everything?
Let us start the year with God, continue throughout with God, and end with God. Let our thoughts, our actions, our fellowship, and our relationships be based on our interactions with, and our knowledge and understanding of this Almighty God who created everything.
We owe Him everything and we need to look to Him at all times. We need to live our lives based on His teachings, His Word and in fellowship with His Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Father God, I am nothing without You. I am grateful that You have blessed me with life for this new year. I begin by redirecting my focus to You. I want to know You more, surrender and submit to You, and obey You fully. I want to daily fellowship with You. Teach, lead, and guide me by Your Holy Spirit. Fill me with the desire to focus on living for You. Amen.
