Shaphan also told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” So Shaphan read it to the king.
2 Kings 22:10 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.
Do you have access to leaders: leaders of government, leaders of industry, leaders of business, leaders in the education sector, leaders in your church, or leaders in any other walks of life?
Be like Shaphan! Have a relationship with a man of God. When you receive God’s written WORD from the man of God, share it with your leader. In this case Shaphan’s leader was the king of Judah. He took God’s WORD and read it to the king.
Do you think God’s WORD should be read to our leaders?
Are you’re brave enough to take God’s WORD and read it to your leader?
Have you been reading God’s WORD to your leaders?
What do you think would happen if you read God’s WORD to your leader?
Here was the king’s response when he heard the reading of God’s WORD:
“When the king heard what was written in the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes in despair. Then he gave these orders to Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Acbor son of Micaiah, Shaphan the court secretary, and Asaiah the king’s personal adviser: “Go to the Temple and speak to the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah. Inquire about the words written in this scroll that has been found. For the Lord’s great anger is burning against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words in this scroll. We have not been doing everything it says we must do.”
So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Acbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to the New Quarter of Jerusalem to consult with the prophet Huldah. She was the wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, the keeper of the Temple wardrobe.

Could your reading of God’s WORD to your leader cause him to seek God?
Prayer: Lord God, the king repented and sought You when he heard Your WORD!
Help us to present Your expressed and manifested mind and will to our leaders. May they hear, understand, repent, and seek You in response to Your WORD. Amen.
