Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.
1 Timothy 4:13 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.
Teach is defined as to impart knowledge to or instruct (someone) as to how to do something, or cause (someone) to learn or understand something by example or experience.
As believers in Christ, we have gotten used to listening to people talking about God. We rely on pastor, prophets, teachers, or another disciple to give us revelations from God. These persons are all needed to fulfill their roles in our lives, but what do we do when they are not available?
We must never depend on them alone. In this passage we see Paul giving Timothy the best instructions that he could give:
1. Focus on reading the Scriptures to the church,
2. Encourage the believers, and
3. Teach the believers.
Reading the scriptures reveals the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.
When we focus on reading the scriptures and meditating on it, it becomes the basis on which we can encourage and teach others.
Are you focused reading and using God’s WORD in church?
Prayer: Father God, we will focus on reading Your WORD in our gatherings. We want to know Your expressed and manifested mind and will. We will teach Your WORD! We will encourage each other from your WORD!
We thank You for this month-long focus on Your WORD. Continue to reveal Your expressed and manifested mind and will to us. We surrender to Your Lordship, we submit to Your mind and will, and we will obey You. Amen.
