Read and Interpret the WORD

By Andrew Williams

Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?”
Luke 10:26 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.

Moses recorded the laws of God for the Israelites. This was part of God’s WORD as He continued to reveal Himself to mankind. The laws of Moses recorded how God wanted the Israelites to act and to live their lives as His priests to mankind.

As the years passed there were many different schools of thoughts and interpretations of this written code. Here we see Jesus asking an expert in the law about his interpretation of God’s written WORD.

Jesus recognized that this man has been reading God’s WORD. Not only had he been reading it, but he had been studying it for many years. So, what was his thoughts on the laws of Moses?

Here Is the conversation with the correct interpretation:

One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”
Luke 10:25‭-‬28 NLT

Have you read God’s WORD?

Do you know how to interpret God’s WORD?

Is your interpretation correct?

Are you living according to God’s WORD?

If you’re asked by others about God’s WORD, can you give an accurate and a Godly interpretation of God’s WORD?

Prayer: Father God, give us the correct understanding and interpretation of Your WORD! Help us to live according to it! Amen.
