“He reached down from heaven and took hold of me; He pulled me out of deep waters.” Psalms 18:16 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
When you are in trouble who do you turn to? Yesterday we saw that when we cry out to God He hears us from His temple. Today we see His response. His response is to help us.
God can find many ways to help us: He can send His holy angels, He can send provision, He can use someone else or something to provide for us, but in this passage it states that He Himself reaches down from heaven to rescue us. The psalmist David was speaking these words to honor God when He delivered him from all his enemies. He saw rightfully that it was God who had protected him and had delivered him.
“He reached down from heaven and took hold of me; He pulled me out of deep waters.” Doesn’t this remind you of what Jesus did for us in the New testament? God heard our cry when sin overwhelmed us, then He Himself came down from heaven, and got us out from under the rule of sin. Jesus paid the price for our salvation, healing, and deliverance.
Like David we need to speak to God and ask Him to save us, then accept what He has done to save us. The answer is right in front of us, we just have to accept it. He has already reached down from heaven and delivered us, it’s just that some of us don’t realize it as yet.
Prayer : Father God, thank You for answering mankind’s call to be redeemed. We are so grateful that You came to save us. Thank You Lord! We accept Your salvation now through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
Thank you Lord for salvation, deliverance and healing.
Amen. If it had not been for the Lord, where would we be? Thanks be to God for being the “I am that I am”…..our Deliverer and Salvation….. and so much more. Hallelujah! Praise His name.
