“At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face looked as bright as an angel’s.” – Acts 6:15 (NLT)

Good morning fellow disciples.

Acts 6:15 offers a powerful glimpse into the divine presence that surrounded Stephen. As he stood before the Sanhedrin, facing accusations and potential death, something extraordinary happened: “everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face looked as bright as an angel’s.” This wasn’t just a subtle glow; it was a visible manifestation of God’s glory, a radiance that captivated and likely unsettled those who beheld it. This verse shows that even in the midst of intense opposition, God’s presence can be so powerful that it transforms our very countenance, reflecting His grace and peace.

In your journey as a disciple, you may face circumstances that are daunting, stressful, or even terrifying. You may feel like you are standing alone, surrounded by opposition. But remember Stephen’s example: even in the face of adversity, God’s presence can shine through you. You are empowered to carry the light of Christ within you, to radiate His love, joy, and peace, regardless of your circumstances. The world may see your challenges, but they will also see the transformative power of God at work in your life. You are called to be a beacon of hope, reflecting God’s glory to a world in need of His light.

This week, cultivate a deeper connection with God through prayer, meditation, and study of His Word. Seek His presence in every moment and ask Him to fill you with His Spirit. Be intentional about letting go of anxieties, fears, and distractions that may dim your inner light. As you draw closer to God, allow His radiance to shine through you, transforming your countenance and impacting those around you. Look for opportunities to be a source of encouragement, hope, and love to others. Remember, redirecting your focus to God allows His light to shine brightly in a dark world.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Stephen and the radiant glory that shone from his face. I ask for Your presence to fill me, so that I may reflect Your light to the world. Help me to let go of anything that hinders my connection with You and to draw closer to You in every moment. May my life be a testimony to Your grace and love, and may Your glory shine through me, transforming my countenance and impacting those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
