Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Good morning fellow disciples.
Are you praying for the lost?
At the very core of the gospel message is God’s relentless pursuit of the lost. As Jesus declared in Luke 19:10, “the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” This statement reflects the depth of God’s love and the urgency with which He desires that all people come to know Him through faith in Christ.
In light of God’s heart for the lost, we as believers are compelled to lift up in prayer those who have not yet come to saving faith. We must ask the Lord to open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, to soften their hearts, and to draw them into a relationship with Himself. Our prayers have the power to partner with the Holy Spirit’s work of conviction and transformation.
As we pray for the lost, we must also be willing to step out in faith and become vessels through which God can work. We must ask the Lord to give us boldness and wisdom to share the hope of Christ with those in our lives who are far from God. Our prayers should lead to action, as we seek to be faithful witnesses for the sake of the gospel.
Our prayers for the lost must be fueled by a deep sense of urgency. As the apostle Paul wrote, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14).
May we be a people who boldly proclaim the good news of salvation, undergirded by a commitment to pray without ceasing for the lost to be found.
Prayer: Father God, we will not stop praying for the lost to be found! Use us to proclaim the gospel to them, lord. Save them, I pray! Amen.
