Praying for Joy

By Andrew Williams

Nehemiah 8:10 – “Then he said to them, ‘Go, eat the rich foods, drink the sweet drinks, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’”

Good morning fellow disciples.

Do you have JOY?

Joy is a profound sense of happiness, contentment, and peace that comes from having a personal relationship with God. It’s a deep-seated feeling of delight, pleasure, and satisfaction that is not dependent on external circumstances. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and is often described as a by-product of trusting in God’s sovereignty, goodness, and love.

Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that “the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

By seeking God’s joy through prayer, we can experience the transformative power of His presence. As we focus on His goodness and pray for a heart filled with joy, we will find that our strength is renewed, and our hearts are filled with thanksgiving.

No matter how difficult our circumstances may be, no matter how weak we may feel, if we redirect our focus to God, we can experience the joy that transcends all our circumstances.

Worship God in spirit and in truth, come into His presence with thanksgiving, and find joy in His presence!

Prayer: Father God, give me the joy that comes from having a personal relationship with You! Amen
