Praying for Compassion

By Andrew Williams

Matthew 14:14 KJV‬ – And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Good morning fellow disciples.

When we encounter suffering or injustice, or when we struggle to understand the pain of others, prayer becomes a lifeline. We can pray for God to fill our hearts with compassion, to grant us empathy, understanding, and a desire to help those in need.

As compassionate disciples of Christ we seek to understand the feelings and experiences of others. We help to alleviate suffering and offer comfort and support to those who are hurting.

Are you offering comfort, support, and practical help to those who are struggling?

Are you sensitive to the needs of others? Are you willing to sacrifice your time and resources, and make a difference in the lives of those around you?

Let us be like Jesus, who, moved with compassion for those who were around Him, healed and delivered them from their troubles.

Prayer: Father God, fill me with compassion for those who need to experience Your love and care. Amen.
