Once, as we were on our way to prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit of prediction. She made a large profit for her owners by fortune-telling. As she followed Paul and us she cried out, “These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.” And she did this for many days. But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her! ” And it came out right away.
Acts 16:16-18 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
As disciples of Christ, we realize that many times we don’t know what He prayed in the early mornings, but when He went out to be among the crowds and the people, what He did was to command things to happen.
He commanded illnesses to be gone. He commanded demons to leave. He commanded the dead to come back to life. Jesus gave us the same power and authority that He had, that is to be witnesses for God here on Earth.
We are Christians, which means that we are little Christs, who are able to do exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ did when he was here on Earth. Jesus Christ also said that we would do greater things than He did. So, as we pattern His life, may we pray in private, and may we go into public and command demons to leave persons, command lives to be restored, and command sickness to go!
Let us be like the apostles and like Jesus’ other disciples who did just this. We are in the image of Christ, so let us act like Jesus did.
Prayer: “You! In the name of our Lord Jesus, stand up on your feet!”
Acts 14:10 TPT
So he shouted, “You! In the name of our Lord Jesus, stand up on your feet!” The man instantly jumped to his feet, stood for the first time in his life, and walked!
Acts 14:10 TPT
Amen!!
This is second time I’m hearing it for today. We don’t pray away demons, illness and the likes; we simply exercise our authority and command them to leave.
A message from the Lord.
