Pray like Anna

By Andrew Williams

Good morning fellow disciples.

Prayer is simply having a conversation with God.

How long are your conversations with God? How often do you speak with God? Do you make it a habit to speak with Him throughout the day and night? Do you add fasting to your prayer life?

In Luke 2:36‭-‬38 NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ we see the prayer life of Anna:

Anna, a prophet, was also there in the Temple. She was the daughter of Phanuel from the tribe of Asher, and she was very old. Her husband died when they had been married only seven years. Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four.

She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer.

She came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she began praising God. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem.

Prayer: Father God, I will dedicate myself to worship You with prayer and fasting. Speak to me like you did with Anna, and then fulfill Your promises to me. I will continue to worship You and preach about You for all my life. Amen.
