But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
Matthew 5:44 NLT
Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
Luke 6:28 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Persecutor: someone who treats a particular group of people cruelly.
Intercede: to intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences; to mediate; to plead on someone else’s behalf; or to intervene on behalf of another.
Jesus, are you sure? You serious?
Should I really:
1. Love my enemy,
2. Pray for people who are persecuting me,
3. Bless the people who are cursing me, and
4. Intercede on behalf of those who hurt me?
Yes, Holy Spirit, I hear You: “I am a disciple of Christ. I know my master’s teaching. I see the life that He lived. I know that my life must pattern Christ’s. And yes, I know that Jesus did everything He commanded in these verses.”
I will do the same!
Prayer: My enemies, my haters, my persecutors, all you who have cursed me: I love you!
I pray that you will have life changing encounters with God. I pray that God will bless you and that you will share that blessing with others. I forgive you for hurting me, and may you receive your healing. Amen.
