I exalt You, my God the King, and praise Your name forever and ever.
Psalms 145:1 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Praise is defined as: the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship; and to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfections.
Exalt is defined as: to think or speak very highly of.
This psalm was written by king David. Notice how David begins this psalm: “I will think and speak highly of You, my God the King!”
David refers to God as THE KING! The designated king of Israel, the ruler, the one in charge, humbles himself before God and recognizes God as the true King.
Do you give God the respect, accolades, praise, and worship that He deserves?
Do you exalt (think or speak highly of) God?
David goes on to say that he will praise God’s name forever and ever. David must really love God to be making a declaration like this.
Do you think and speak highly of God when you praise Him, or do you use vain repetitions and praises that are lacking in sincerity?
Can you honestly proclaim and fulfill this declaration: “I exalt You, my God the King, and praise Your name forever and ever.”
Prayer: Lord God, You are everything to me. You are highly exalted in my thoughts and speech. I WILL forever worship You and give You all my praise. I give You ALL the glory and honor. Amen.
