Praise God when You are Sad

By Andrew Williams

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.
Psalms 42:11 HCSB
Praise God when You are Sad

Good morning fellow disciples.

Praise is defined as: the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship; and to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfections.

Are you depressed? Is there turmoil within you?

No matter the cause, emotionally that’s not a nice place to be. Sometimes the causes are many, and sometimes we don’t even know the cause.

In these times we lose our hope and we become anxious because of our circumstances. We tend to focus on everything that makes our situation even more difficult to deal with.

But here we see the psalmist telling us to redirect our focus. He says:
1. Put your hope in God! And,
2. Still praise Him!
Because God is our Savior, and He is our God!

Prayer: Lord, You are my savior and You are my God. That’s more than enough reasons for me to continually praise You. No matter what I am going through, or who may be coming against me, I will praise You. You are worthy to be praised! Amen!
