He blessed him and said: Abram is blessed by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, and I give praise to God Most High who has handed over your enemies to you. And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
Genesis 14:19-20 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Praise is defined as: the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship; and to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfections.
Can you think of someone in your life who causes you to burst out in praise to God because of who they are?
Who are the persons in your life who have blessed you spiritually, emotionally, or financially? Do you praise God because of the way that these persons have affected your life?
Do you praise God for the mighty feats that persons have accomplished?
Are you someone who causes persons to offer praise to God because of your actions?
Prayer: Father God, help us to be like Abraham, who walked righteously before You, who You called Your friend, and who risked his own life to save others. Help us Lord, to be obedient to Your will, and to show others how to live their lives pleasing to You.
We praise You God, because of all the saints who have gone ahead of us and who are still living. Their lives, their sacrifice, and their love for You causes us to fall on our knees in worship to You.
We praise You, we honor You, we glorify You, and we thank You for using them to show us how to live for You. Help us to live our lives so that others will come to know You, and to praise You. Amen.
