The leaders of the Levites — Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, along with their relatives opposite them — gave praise and thanks, division by division, as David the man of God had prescribed.
Nehemiah 12:24 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Praise is defined as: the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship; and to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfections.
Sometimes praise flows spontaneously from us towards God. Sometimes the worship experience is designed by others. There are prescribed ways for us to worship God.
When we are placed in a position where we are following the prescription, the act of worship can be predictable, but still yet very effective. We learn how to praise God by emulating others who have been taught how to truly praise God. We learn how to praise God through the revelations of God to holy men.
Do your praise God in a prescribed fashion? Do you follow a pattern that allows you to show God that you truly honor and glorify Him? When you praise Him in the prescribed fashion, do other persons join in worship to Almighty God?
Let us praise God today the way that we know how to! Let us praise God according to the prescribed fashion, so that we can worshipfully bring others into the presence of God.
Prayer: Father God, we thank You for showing us how to offer thanks and praise to You. We thank You for giving us worship ministers and worship leaders who helps us to come humbly into Your presence. We thank You Lord for the holy men of God who have left for us the direction for worship and praise. Today we choose to glorify You according to the prescribed pattern that we know. May our praises be acceptable, through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
