Praise and Worship – Bring Your Gifts To God

“Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Have you been searching for God for a long time? Have you been seeking Him? Have you been trying to get into His presence? Have you finally reached that place where you have connected with Him?

You are there now. You are worshipping Him and giving praise to Him. But, what gift has have you brought Him? What have you brought to the Lord?

Yes, some of us are very talented singers and talented worshippers and that in itself is our gift. Some of us have the gift of teaching, the gift of preaching, or the gift of praying well, and we can do all those in front of God. But what is it that you treasure that you can give off to God?

In this verse we see that the wise men came and saw Jesus, and they bowed down and worshipped Him, and they took of their treasures and gave Him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What is in your treasure box today? What is it that you hold in such high esteem that you could actually give to God as a gift?

As we praise and worship God today in song, dance, and other movements, and as we praise and worship God today in our relationship and fellowship with others, let us bring Him something that we truly treasure.

Our prayer today consist of the words of the song “More Than a Song” by Dunsin Oyekan. I pray that this will be our prayer today.

Prayer: Father God,
“I have more than a song.
Today, I brought myself.
I am the sacrifice !
I have more than a song.
Today, I brought myself.
I am Your worship!

Lord, receive
This living sacrifice.
I am Your worship.
Accept this living sacrifice
I am Your worship.”

Father God, I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice. Make me pure and holy. I come before Your Throne and I empty myself, offering You willingly my whole life.

Please accept and receive the sacrifice I am as the best gift I can offer You, amen.
