The Living Gospel (Week 2: Connecting Your Chapter to His Book)

Opening Prayer
God, our Author and Finisher, may every word of our mouths and every chapter of our lives bring glory and honor to Your name alone.

Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Psalm 115:1
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory because of your unfailing love and faithfulness.”

We have come to the end of a week focused on connecting our story to God’s story. We’ve seen how our lives reflect the grand narrative of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Sanctification. Now, we conclude with the ultimate goal, the final filter through which every testimony must pass.

This verse from the Psalms is the heart-cry of a true witness. The purpose of telling our story is not to gain praise for ourselves, to impress people with our experiences, or to build our own platform. The singular goal is to give glory to God’s name.

Our testimony is a vehicle, and the destination is always the glory of God. We point to His “unfailing love” when we talk about our salvation. We point to His “faithfulness” when we talk about how He carried us through trials. Every plot point, every turning point, every transformation in our narrative should ultimately lead the listener to say, “Wow, your God is amazing.” When we do this, our small story serves its true, eternal purpose.

Disciples’ Life Tip: Imagine you are about to share your story with someone. Before you begin, pray this simple prayer: “Lord, use my words, but let the glory be all yours. May they see You, not me.”

Closing Prayer: Lord, not to me, but to your name be the glory. Take my humble story and use it as a megaphone to declare Your unfailing love and faithfulness to a world that desperately needs to see it. Amen.
