I want your constant love, not your animal sacrifices. I would rather have my people know me than burn offerings to me.
Hosea 6:6 GNT
Good morning fellow disciples.
In Hosea 6:5b ( GNT) this is what God says: “What I want from you is plain and clear:”. He was speaking to the Israelites through the prophet Hosea, at the time when the people were thinking of returning to God. However, they wanted to return in the religious way of offering sacrifices and pretending to be right with God. God saw through this and stated clearly what He wanted.
I WANT YOUR CONSTANT LOVE ! God is tired of us coming to Him intermittently to show Him love. He wants us to love Him constantly and to show it and live it out all the time.
Acts of service like offering animal sacrifices, going to temple, praying, fasting and other such religious practices are not what God desires. He wants us to LOVE Him!
I WANT MY PEOPLE TO KNOW ME ! God wants us to truly know Him, not just do the religious practices that can help us to form a better relationship with Him. Sometimes when we do these practices we don’t truly get to know God. What God wants is surrender, submission, obedience, and full fellowship with Him.
Let us spend time getting to know our God and to love Him the way that He deserves to be loved. Let us redirect our focus from ourselves unto our God and Father who desires fellowship with us.
Prayer : Father God help us to see plainly and clearly what You desire of us. Help us to love You! Help us to draw closer to You so that our relationship and fellowship with You may improve, so that we will truly know you as FATHER and God ! I ask You this in Jesus’ name, amen.
