Scripture : “But, meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, for I trust that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.” Philemon 1:22 NKJV
Observation : Paul has faith that Philemon’s prayers will be answered by God. He asks Philemon to make actual preparations ahead of the visible fulfilment of the answer to prayer. Do you have this kind of faith and trust in the prayers of others?
Paul is looking beyond his imprisonment and planning for reunion with his disciple. In this letter we see Paul showing fatherly care to his two disciples, while showing that he has faith and trust in them as fellow disciples in Christ. He now shows his own faith in God answering the prayers of his beloved disciple Philemon.
As you look at your current stressful situations, is there anyone that you are helping during your trying times? Is there anyone that you can say that you trust so much that you believe that their prayers can deliver you from your situation?
Application : I will exercise my faith in God by helping others during my times of trials. I will trust my fellow disciples and believe that their prayers will change my situation. I will put plans into action even though I see that I have not been delivered from my situation as yet .
Prayer :Father God I believe in you! I trust in you! I know that the fellow disciples that I am among are your children. Because of their relationship with you, and our relationship with each other, I know without a shadow of a doubt that you will answer their prayers. Even though I am not freed from my current incarceration, I will put plans in place because I know that I will be set free. I continue to trust You in all things through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, amen.
