Scripture : “Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say.” Philemon 1:21 NKJV
Observation : In the letter to Philemon , sometimes what Paul says isn’t very clear. Paul doesn’t state directly that Philemon should free Onesimus, but we can come to that conclusion by the way Paul speaks. Is this the “even more” that Paul speaks of in this verse, or is there something more?
Whatever it is, Paul is confident that Philemon would obey. This is the sort of relationship that Paul had with his disciple. Do you have this sort of confidence in your disciples?
Application : I will foster relationships with my disciples that will lead to me having unwavering confidence in them .
Prayer : Father God help me to train disciples who will live like the Lord Jesus Christ. May our relationships be mutually respectful and may they be obedient to me, and do even more than I may ask, because they are totally submitted to You. Amen
