Scripture :”I am sending him back. You therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,” Philemon 1:12 NKJV
Observation : Now that Onesimus is profitable Paul is sending him back. Is this Paul’s way of helping Philemon? Paul goes on to say that Onesimus is his own heart. This suggests to me that Paul definitely wants Philemon to benefit from the return of Onesimus. Sending him back suggest that Onesimus was definitely a changed person, so changed that Paul now calls him his son.
Application : 1. I want to be like Onesimus, so changed that I can be sent out by a great man of God who sees me as his son.
2. I want to be like Paul who helped to disciple someone like Onesimus.
Prayer : Father God, help me to be a loyal disciple who is also discipling other loyal disciples, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
