Philemon 1:11 – Profitable

By Andrew Williams – May 28, 2021

Scripture : “who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to you and to me.” Philemon 1:11 NKJV

Observation : What a difference salvation and discipleship makes! Onesimus’ life; previously unprofitable to one, is now profitable to two. When we are saved we become changed and we now begin to live out our God ordained destiny. With proper discipleship we can be fruitful witnesses for Christ.

Sometimes because of our status or circumstances in life we fall into a pattern of being unprofitable to those who we live among, but this can change. All we need is for someone to show us how to be different, and for someone to disciple us into becoming profitable. This is how Onesimus became profitable, because Paul took the time to show him who he could become when he accepted Jesus Christ as savior.

Application : I will spend time discipling persons so that their lives can be fruitful for Christ.

Prayer : Father God, use me to preach the gospel that will convert others to you and use me even more to disciple them to be like Jesus Christ, amen.
