Scripture : “Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our beloved friend and fellow laborer, to the beloved Apphia, Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house: ” Philemon 1:1-2 NKJV
Observation : Paul and Timothy maintained their relationships with those who they discipled even though they were far away from them. In that time it took writing letters or visiting persons or sending messages through others to maintain contact. Sometimes this took a long while, but Paul and Timothy were faithful to the task.
Paul and Timothy’s love and care for their fellow disciples are demonstrated in the way they looked out for them. They maintained their relationships and in so doing helped to strengthen the churches that they had planted and cared for in person.
In today’s society it is much easier to keep in contact with one another, but do we stay in contact?
Application : I will use the resources available to me to maintain contact with those who God has placed in my life. I will remain in fellowship with others even though I am physically distant from my church family.
Prayer : Father God help me to maintain Godly relationships so that I can encourage others, and be encouraged by others. Use us Lord to maintain the fellowship of the saints. I ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.
