Philemon 1: 15 -Purpose

By Andrew Williams – June 13, 2021

Scripture : For perhaps he departed for a while for this purpose, that you might receive him forever, Philemon 1:15 NKJV

Observation : Sometimes we might find ourselves losing something that we hold dear or cherish. We may not understand the reason why, but sometimes what happens in the time that we lose that cherished thing is the best thing that could happen to us.

In the time that Onesimus was away from Philemon, he became a disciple of Christ and was being discipled by Paul. With this newfound life he was now a better person and was able to fulfill his role to Philemon and Paul even greater than before.

Onesimus was now devoted to serving God, and based on this new relationship with God, he was now able to serve Philemon even better.

Application : 1. I will seek greater relationship with God, and because of that relationship I will serve others in a better way.

2. I will disciple others so that they will serve God and others to the fullest.

Prayer : Father God help us to find our purpose wherever we may be at. Help us to put you first, so that we can serve others the way that you desire. Amen.
