“May your eyes be open to my requests and to the requests of your people Israel. May you hear and answer them whenever they cry out to you.
1 Kings 8:52 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Petition: a request made for something desired, especially a respectful or humble request, as to a superior or to one of those in authority; a supplication or prayer.
Do you believe that God hears your petitions when you pray?
Do you believe that God will hear the petitions of your fellow disciples when they pray?
Have you been making petitions and seeing Him answer from heaven?
In this passage we see Solomon praying to God, asking Him to be faithful to answer his requests and those of the people of Israel. This petition was made after the dedication of the temple where the Israelites would go to meet with God and to speak with Him.
Solomon knew that God was not residing in the temple, but that when the people prayed there, God would hear their petitions. He asked God to always be willing to hear them and to grant them their petitions.
My fellow disciples, you are the temple of God’s Holy Spirit! Surrender to Him! Submit to Him! Be obedient to Him! When you pray, God is closer to you than you can imagine. He ALWAYS hears you!
Prayer: Father God, I know that You always hear me when I pray. Please continue to hear me and my fellow disciples, even when we think that we are far away from You.
I ask You God, to faithfully respond to our petitions. May we honor you with our words and deeds as we humbly come to Your throne of grace, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
