They asked him to stay longer, but he declined. As he left, however, he said, “I will come back later, God willing.” Then he set sail from Ephesus.
Acts of the Apostles 18:20-21 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Petition: something asked or requested, or an earnest request.
More time! That’s all I want! Give me more time!
Has that ever been your petition?
More time: with family, friends, your spouse, to complete a task, to live, in worship, with God! Do you need more time for these or anything else?
Whatever the situation, just ask the person for the time that you need.
In this passage, Paul could not spend more time with the elders. However, he was able to express his love to them and assure them that he would return if God permitted.
My fellow disciples, ask for the time that you need. Let your loved ones, fellow disciples, or God know that you need more time with them.
Prayer: Father God, I need to spend more time fellowshipping with You. I need more time to edify Your Church. I need more prayer time with You. I need more time away from the crowd.
I will do whatever it takes to achieve these. Grant me these petitions as I work with You to make them reality. Amen.
