Petition for Freedom

By Andrew Williams

The crowd went to Pilate and asked him to release a prisoner as usual.
Mark 15:8 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

Petition: something asked or requested, an earnest request.

What are you held captive by?

Is it:
1. A literal jail,
2. Immoral thoughts,
3. Addictions,
4. Sexual sin,
5. The occult/witchcraft,
6. A flawed religious system?

The list can be exhaustive! Examine yourself and see what you need to be freed from. You should also ask a fellow disciple to help in the process because you sometimes will not be able to clearly see what is holding you captive.

Now that you know that you are being held captive, do you want to be free?

If you are the disciple who is seeing your fellow disciples being held captive, do you want them to be free?

If the answer is yes, petition the ruling authority for their or your freedom!

Prayer: Father God, I don’t want to remain in captivity or see others imprisoned. Father God, I will make petitions to those in authority for our freedom.

Lord Jesus, I know that You paid the price for our complete freedom. You said that if I ask Father God anything in Your Name that He will grant it. So, Father God, I am asking You to free me and my fellow disciples RIGHT NOW from Everything that is holding us captive!

I receive Your pardon and freedom, Lord. I will live my life serving You in my new found freedom. Thank You, thank You, thank You, for setting me free. Amen.
