Good morning fellow disciples.
This week we will be looking at the theme, God’s Purpose for My Life.
Purpose is defined as “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” We were created by Almighty God In His image for His purpose. The question we will be asking this week is, “What is God’s purpose for my life?”
The topic of driving out demons is something that some pastors hide away from while others speak about it a bit too much. The question I will ask today is, “As a disciple of Jesus Christ, is driving out demons part of my God-ordained purpose?
Let us see what Jesus Christ our Lord and master taught, emulated, and commanded.
Summoning His 12 disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out and to heal every disease and sickness. Matthew 10:1 HCSB
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, drive out demons. You have received free of charge; give free of charge. Matthew 10:8 HCSB
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name, they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will never harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”
Mark 16:17-18 HCSB
Is that clear enough! Jesus gave his disciples authority over unclean spirits so that they could drive them out. He commanded them to drive out demons.
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons”. Are you a believer? Well, if you believe in Jesus’ word then a part of YOUR purpose is to drive out demons!
Prayer: Father God, Your word says it. Jesus commanded it. Jesus empowered us as believers to do it. I WILL DO IT – I WILL DRIVE OUT DEMONS! Amen.
