Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:9 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you put aside time to reflect on, ponder over, and focus your thoughts on how true disciples of Jesus lived?
In this verse we see Paul telling the Philippians to emulate his behavior. At that time, the teachings of Jesus were not fully recorded in what we call the New Testament. Paul’s instruction to them was to emulate what they had seen him do and heard him teach.
Today, our meditation is guided by the entire New Testament. In it we see how Jesus lived His life, what He taught the disciples to do, and how they lived their lives in the early church. We see them living lives that were surrendered, submitted, and full of obedience to God.
Are you living like this?
Let us daily obey our Lord Jesus Christ who told his disciples:
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20 NLT
Amen
