Meditate on God’s Word

By Andrew Williams

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Joshua 1:8 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

Our focus this month is meditating on scripture. We will be looking at scriptures, listen to what God says to us and then record it. Do you have a pen and paper ready? Do you have an electronic device that you can record the impressions that God will give you?

In Joshua chapter 1: 8 Joshua is instructed by God to continually spend time in His word. Joshua is supposed to meditate on God’s Word day and night, and he is to obey everything that is written in it. God tells him that this is the only way that he will prosper and succeed in all that he does.

Meditate is defined as to focus one’s thoughts on, to reflect on, or ponder over.

Do you want to prosper and succeed in all that you do?

Do you study God’s book of instruction daily?

Do you meditate on it in the day and in the night, and are you obeying everything that is written in it?

As you ponder this passage, what is God saying to you? Spend some time today thinking about what God has said in His word, and as you focus your thoughts ask yourself this question: “Am I obeying God’s Word?”

Prayer: Father God, as I meditate on this passage today, I realize that I need to spend time in Your WORD. I need to spend time pondering and reflecting and thinking about Your WORD. As I examine my life, I realize that I have not been obedient to everything that You have said.

I repent! Starting now I will seek to obey every word that is written in Your Holy Scriptures. Help me to be faithful to You, I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
