May Your loving devotion rest on us, O Lord, as we put our hope in You.
Psalms 33:22 BSB
Good morning, fellow disciples.
Wait is defined as: “to remain stationary in readiness or expectation.”
Hope is defined as: desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment.
Hope and waiting goes hand in hand. When we remain stationary in readiness and expectation that God will do for us what we desire according to His will, God will respond to us.
It is our hope/trust in him that causes Him to respond. While we wait in faith, wait in Hope, and trust Him, God begins to work in our lives.
God pours out His love on us. He begins to work in our lives in such a way that shows His devotion to us, His love for us, His care for us, and His desires for us.
The psalmist asks God to pour out His loving devotion on us as we hope in Him. What do you ask God for while you’re waiting on Him?
Do you ask Him for things, or do you ask Him for Himself?
While you wait do you want more of what God can provide, or do you want more of God?
Prayer: Father God, thank You for loving me while I wait on You. I want to know You more while I wait on You. I want more of Your love, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, and might. I want Your Holy Spirit and I want to know Him as my best friend. I just want more of You God. While I wait, give me my heart’s desire to know You more. Amen.
The song writer pen these words; The greatest thing in all my life is to know you (Lord) more, to love you more and to serve you more.
And this is the desire of my heart.
