The Living Gospel (Week 4: Living a Shareable Life)

Opening Prayer
Jesus, may our lives shine so brightly with your love and goodness that people can’t help but ask about the source of our hope.

Today’s Scripture (NLT)
1 Peter 2:12
“Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give glory to God on the day he visits.”

Before we ever share our story with words, we share it with our lives. The most effective evangelism often begins not with a proclamation, but with a demonstration. This verse calls us to “live properly” and have “honorable behavior” among those who don’t yet believe. Why? So that our lives will be an undeniable testament to the goodness of our God.

A shareable life is a life that is noticeably different. It’s a life of integrity in a world of compromise. It’s a life of peace in a world of anxiety. It’s a life of generosity in a world of greed. It’s a life of forgiveness in a world of bitterness. When people see this consistently, it creates a curiosity. It “begs the question.”

Your actions build the credibility for your words. When your neighbors, coworkers, and family see you living an honorable life, it makes them want to know the “why” behind your “what.” Your life of integrity creates the opportunity for a conversation about the Lord you serve. Let your actions speak so loudly that people ask you to turn up the volume of your words.

Disciples’ Life Tip: Choose one specific area where you can demonstrate “honorable behavior” today in a noticeable way. Maybe it’s refusing to participate in gossip at work, showing unusual patience in a frustrating situation, or going out of your way to serve someone.

Closing Prayer: Father, may my actions be so full of Your grace and integrity that they create a holy curiosity in the people around me. Help me to live a life that begs the question, so I can give the answer: Jesus. Amen.
