Revelation 2:7 NLT – “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God.
Good morning fellow disciples.
Are you listening to what the Holy Spirit is telling you?
John received a message from the resurrected Christ to the churches. In this message, Jesus revealed that He knew exactly was what was happening in the churches. He knew the good and the bad.
Jesus spoke about each individual church, and at the end of each discourse He made this statement: “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”
Notice that He did not say, ‘listen to what I am saying to the churches’, but He said, ‘listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’ Remember that the Holy Spirit is the one who is sent out into the world to be with us. It is God’s Holy Spirit who is speaking to the churches!
Are you listening and understanding what He is saying to us?
Prayer: Holy Spirit, I am listening. I know that You have seen our hard work and our patient endurance. You see that we don’t tolerate evil people and that we have examined the persons who are liars. You see that we have not given up, Lord.
Thank you for making it clear that we don’t love You as much as we did at first. We have fallen!
We confess our sin, Lord. We repent!
Help us to be consistent in our walk so that we will be victorious, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
