They remained standing in place for three hours while the Book of the Law of the Lord their God was read aloud to them. Then for three more hours they confessed their sins and worshiped the Lord their God.
Nehemiah 9:3 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Confess: to unburden one’s sins or the state of one’s conscience to God or to a priest.
When was the last time you really listened to the Word of God? Did you see God in the scriptures that you listened to? Did you sense how sinful you were when you heard God’s Word?
How deeply did God’s Word impact you?
Did you confess your sins to God in response to His Word?
Did you break out in worship after you heard His Word and confessed your sin?
How much time and attention do you put into seeking God through His word? How much time and attention do you give to God during confession and while worshiping Him?
Prayer: Father God, as I redirect my focus to seeking You and knowing You, I will pay close attention to Your Word. In Your scriptures I will find You. In Your scriptures I will see how sinful I am.
My response is to confess my sins to You. Thank You for absolving me of all sin and cleansing me of all wickedness.
I honor You! I glorify You! Hallelujah! Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Thank You for forgiving me and placing me back on the right track. I will seek to serve You, both now and forever, amen.
