Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand. Mark 7:14 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Listen is defined as: to hear something with thoughtful attention or give consideration.
We have all heard conversations, presentations, sermons, or lectures that we have given thoughtful attention to. Sometimes however we really do not understand what was said.
In Mark 14 Jesus was teaching the crowd about inner purity. He realized that they were not understanding what He was trying to say, so He called and said: “All of you listen and try to understand”.
Even His close disciples did not understand what he was saying to them. The good thing was that they asked Him to explain what He meant.
What have you heard and are giving thoughtful consideration to but still do not understand?
Ask God to explain what He is trying to say to you! Ask God to open up your understanding!
Prayer: Father God, honestly there are many things that I have heard and have given thoughtful consideration to, but I still do not understand. This includes conversations, lectures, sermons, and Your written WORD.
I want to understand, Lord! Please give me insight and understanding, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
