Listen and Prophesy

By Andrew Williams

Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ – Go yourself and listen to what the Lord our God says. Then come and tell us everything he tells you, and we will listen and obey.’‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Good morning, fellow disciples.

Listen: to hear something with thoughtful attention.

Prophet: a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.

One of the benefits of listening to God is that when you share what He tells you with others, you’ll begin to prophecy. Isn’t that awesome?

Many of us pray to God to be gifted as an apostle, a prophet, a teacher, an evangelist, or a pastor. But if we listen to what the people said in these verses, we will realize how simple it is to become a prophet. All we need to do is go to God, listen to Him, and then come and tell them what God says.

Are you willing to do that?

There are so many people today that are seeking to hear from God. You can make a difference in their lives. Devote yourself to spending time with God! Listen to and meditate on His WORD! Then go and speak God’s WORD to the people who need to hear His voice.

Prayer: Father God, there are so many persons who need to hear from You, but they are unwilling to seek You wholeheartedly. There are so many times people have come to me asking me what I believe God wants them to do.

Father God, I want to establish a deep relationship with You so that I can regularly hear Your voice. I will listen to You, and I will prophesy to Your people, in Jesus, name. Amen.
