Jesus’ Conversation With A Tree Part 3

By Andrew Williams – July 15, 2022

And seeing in the distance a fig tree [covered] with leaves, He went to see if He could find any [fruit] on it [for in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. But when He came up to it, He found nothing but leaves, for the fig season had not yet come. And He said to it, No one ever again shall eat fruit from you. And His disciples were listening [to what He said].
Mark 11:13‭-‬14 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

“And He said to it, No one ever again shall eat fruit from you.”

Jesus cursed this fig tree! He cursed it! Can you imagine how the tree felt when Jesus cursed it instead of forgiving it or blessing it?

Many of us don’t see the judgment side of God. We know that God is patient with us and gives us many chances to make things right with Him. But, if we keep on refusing to live according to His will, there comes a time when we will fall under His wrath. The choice is clear: choose to live for God or live in enmity to God.

Hear the word of God:
“It is a fearful (formidable and terrible) thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hands of the living God!”
Hebrews 10:31 AMPC

Today as you ponder the thought that you can be cursed by God, what do you think you should do to keep from coming under God’s curse?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I don’t want to be cursed by You. I will live surrendered and submitted to You and Father God. I will obey Your teachings, live like You and, go and make disciples like You commanded.

I will be a faithful and fruitful disciple who is living empowered by Your Holy Spirit! Amen
