Jesus’ Conversation With A Tree Part 2

By Andrew Williams – July 14, 2022

And seeing in the distance a fig tree [covered] with leaves, He went to see if He could find any [fruit] on it [for in the fig tree the fruit appears at the same time as the leaves]. But when He came up to it, He found nothing but leaves, for the fig season had not yet come. And He said to it, No one ever again shall eat fruit from you. And His disciples were listening [to what He said].
Mark 11:13‭-‬14 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Body language is defined as “the conscious and unconscious movements and postures by which attitudes and feelings are communicated.”

Are you like this fig tree?

Is God looking at you from a distance expecting to find you producing fruit when He comes to you?

Are you doing everything that makes it seems like you are fruitful?

Are you: reading your Bible, praying, going to church, attending bible study, taking part in missions, preaching and, have leadership roles in church?

Like the fig tree covered in leaves you have everything that makes it seems like you are an effective disciple. But, are you?

Do you exibit the fruit of the Spirit?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 HCSB

Are you like this fig tree who provoked Jesus?

When Jesus returns and finds that you have not been living by the Spirit and have no fruit, will He not curse you like He did this fig tree?

Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels! For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink;
Matthew 25:41‭-‬42 HCSB

Prayer: Father God, when am I going to bear fruit? What do I have to do to produce the fruit that You require? I don’t want to be like this fig tree that was fruitless, and was cursed. I want to be fruitful! I want to be accepted by You! Amen.

God’s response: And a cloud threw a shadow upon them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My Son, the [most dearworthy] Beloved One. Be constantly listening to and obeying Him!
Mark 9:7 AMPC
