“Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me — nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Luke 22:42 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Sometimes intercession is not for others, It is for us. Who knows you better than you know yourself? Who knows the desires of your heart? Who knows what you are going through? Who knows the sins that you have? As we intercede for ourselves, might I ask you to do a few things ?
Intercede for yourself in terms of:
~Your relationship with Christ.
~Your fellowship with Christ.
~Your fellowship with others.
~Your purpose here on earth, and
~God’s plan for you.
Stop and listen to the directions of the Holy Spirit.
As He speaks to you and as you read God’s word, there are some things that all of us need to do. We need to:
~Know God
~Surrender to God.
~Make disciples
~Be Kingdom ambassadors.
You may be going through something specific today that you need God’s help for, or that you need God’s guidance for. As you seek God, pour out your heart before Him.
Let Him know exactly what you need, what you desire, and exactly what you have to offer to Him. Just listen for His answer and then go out and do as He says. A good way to start your prayer is by reflecting on how God has already worked in your life, giving Him thanks just like Paul did.
Prayer : I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry — one who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man.
But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” — and I am the worst of them.
But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate His extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:12-17 HCSB
Now, take your requests to God.
