Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.
Numbers 21:7 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Intercede: to intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences; mediate; to plead on someone else’s behalf; or intervene on behalf of another.
Are you the leader of a group of persons?
What type of relationship do they have with the Lord?
What sort of relationship do they have with you?
Most importantly, what sort of relationship do you have with the Lord?
Moses had a close personal relationship with God. The children of Israel, however, did not. They were afraid of God, and asked Moses if he would be the spokesperson for God so that they wouldn’t have to come into direct contact with God.
The Israelites were being punished by God for sinning against God and Moses. Because of their lack of relationship with God, they had to run to Moses to ask him to intercede on their behalf.
Moses willingly prayed for the people, and God heard him. God provided a way for them to be saved from the deadly bites of the snakes.
You need to be like Moses and pray for your followers. You need to be like Moses and forgive those who have sinned against you. You need to be an intercessor like Moses!
Are you interceding on behalf of your followers, congregants, group members, or fellow disciples?
Prayer: Father God, I am a leader. I confess my sins to You and ask You to forgive me. Place me in right standing with You, Lord, so that I can pray on behalf of those who I lead.
I want You to hear me when I pray. I want You to answer so that they can be healed, saved, and delivered. Even though they may not be perfect, I love the persons that I lead. I will consistently and faithfully intercede on their behalf. Forgive their sins and save them I pray, amen.
