One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.
Matthew 19:13 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you intercede for children? Are you a parent, or an advocate of a child who you want to have an encounter with the Lord? Or, are you like these disciples who are trying to keep children from meeting and being blessed by the Lord?
Even though the disciples tried to stop the parents from bringing their children to Jesus, Jesus intervened on the children’s behalf.
But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
Matthew 19:14-15 NLT
Our Lord set the example that we need to follow. Our children are in need of guidance, protection, encouragement, and prayer. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we need to intercede on our children’s behalf so that they can begin fulfilling the plans and purposes the God has for them.
Let us:
1. Usher our children into God’s presence,
2. Pray for them, and
3. Create opportunities for them to serve God the way He requires.
Prayer: Father God, we have sinned in the way that we have treated our children. Forgive us, please! We repent, Lord!
Starting now, we will use every opportunity to lead and bring our children to You. We will give them opportunities to serve in your Kingdom as we disciple them to be like our Lord Jesus Christ. We will bless them and pray for them as a matter of priority! WE WILL INTERCEDE FOR THEM JUST LIKE JESUS WOULD! Amen.
Help us Lord.
Amen
