“I long for You in the night; yes, my spirit within me diligently seeks You, for when Your judgments are in the land, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
What did you do last night ? What do you plan to do tonight? What do you desire more than anything else? Is it to know God and to fellowship with Him to the fullest? What are you seeking in your quiet times ? I know, I’m asking a lot of questions today, but I’m trying to find out what is the deepest intentions of your heart and to see if you are pursuing it.
My fellow disciples, if you have or haven’t chosen to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, even though you are “following” him, do you long for him? Do you long for Him in the night? Do you spend your nights reading His word, worshipping Him, listening to teachings from anointed men of God, and in prayer ? Remember that prayer at its root is simply listening and speaking to God.
Does your spirit within you DILIGENTLY seek God? Is your search characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort? That is what it means to be diligent. I must admit that my approach to my relationship with God is not diligent at times. We all have nights, or periods of time when it is void of activity. Let us use those times to longingly seek God DILIGENTLY.
Prayer : Father God I long for You in the night. My heart and my spirit diligently seeks YOU! I long to be like Christ Jesus , so Lord God I surrender my all to You and I seek to spend every moment I have in Your Holy presence. Please honor my longing and diligent seeking I pray, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
Thought provoking. May we be diligent in our pursuit of Christ.
