“He brought me out to a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.” Psalms 18:19 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
As we continue to look at God saving and delivering us we see in this verse how God rescued “me” and brought me out to a spacious place. Rescuing us is in His power and His will. But the verse says that He does this “because He delighted in me”.
In me !? God rescued me because He DELIGHTED in me! Why is God “highly pleased” so highly pleased with me that He rescued me?
Is it because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior? Is it because I am totally sin free? Is it because I am obeying His commandments? Is it because I have totally surrendered and submitted to Him? Is it because I am following Him , but I haven’t fulfilled any of the criteria in the preceding questions?
As we remember the story of the prodigal son, we see where the father accepted him and and brought him back into right standing with him even before he fulfilled any criteria. All he did was walk the path back to his father and his father accepted him. Today, if you’re thinking that you’re not worthy for God to delight in you, stop thinking that way and just start walking towards Him. All He wants for you, and me to do is to walk the path that He has placed us on. Our Father delights in us when we do the things that He requires, so let us START to do that and then continue doing them!
Prayer : Father God, thank You for delighting in me, and rescuing me and bringing me into the most spacious place where You are present. I thank You, I love You, and I will honor You with my life. Help me to live a life that is continually pleasing to You, and help me to bring others into Your kingdom to experience the joy of being Your child, amen.
In me ? Thank You Daddy !!
He rescued me, new life I live. He reached down in love and rescued me! Hallelujah! I’m so undeserving and soooo grateful.
