Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you fear losing your child?
Have you been in the position where your child is deathly ill, been in a freak accident, or has been in a situation where he is not expected to survive?
You take him to the best doctors. You are willing to pay for the most expensive surgeries. You beg and plead with God for Him to perform a miracle.
However, no matter what you do, you have no control over the outcome, and the reality that you will outlive your child is all you can think of. This is the reality that many parents have to deal with!
Do you want to see your child die?
This was the situation that Hagar found herself in when Abraham sent her away, and she was aimlessly wandering the desert with her child.
Genesis 21:16 NLT -Then she went and sat down by herself about a hundred yards away. “I don’t want to watch the boy die,” she said, as she burst into tears.
Hagar’s response is the response that many of us would have. We never want to see our loved ones die, especially when they are young and innocent.
No matter how distressing the situation, we need to recognize God’s plan and purpose. We need to seek His will. Sometimes God will spare their lives and sometimes He will not.
Prayer: God, I don’t want to! I don’t want to be placed in a position of watching my child suffer. I don’t want to feel useless as my child faces death. I don’t want to watch my child die. I don’t want to outlive my child!
I don’t know how You will answer the desires of my heart, but like David, I will seek my child’s life as long as he lives. Like David, I hope that I can praise You if he dies, because I expect to see him in the life to come. Amen
Losing a child is grave and sad situation. Oh to be able to rejoice even after unanswered prayers !
