Acts of the Apostles 19:6 NLT- Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.
Good morning fellow disciples.
Yesterday we saw a group of disciples who had only received John’s baptism and had no knowledge of the Holy Spirit. This did not stop them from preaching about Jesus. However, they encountered people who knew that they needed to receive the Holy Spirit to be effective disciples.
What did these wiser disciples do?
They taught them about Jesus and His baptism, baptized them in Jesus’ name, and prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.
Do you know of fellow disciples who need more teaching and need to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Will you be like Paul who educated these disciples and prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit?
Prayer: Father God, we ask You to baptize our fellow disciples with Your Holy Spirit. We go out today to preach Your good news and to pray for those who believe to receive Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
